I have had a lot of people ask me WHY I shared this class content so freely. Quite honestly, it has been amazing working in this industry with so many kind, wonderful and giving people – the best of whom are my readers and students.
I wanted my path on this road to end with the best gift I could imagine giving. I was inspired by a post from one of my mentors where he said,
"The cool part, the punchline, is that giving a gift for no reason and with no transaction contemplated is actually incredibly powerful. It changes your approach to the market, it changes your relationship with the recipient and yes, it changes you."
So I am leaving you all with the best gift for no reason I can imagine giving. I have shared with you as I would a friend and I have been so blessed that you have accepted my gift and allowed me to be your teacher.
Seriously – being able to teach and help others use technology to digitally enhance and tell the stories of their photos - I am just grateful to be a small part of that.
So many of you have emailed your thanks and worried about my compensation. To you I answer that sometimes it is a gift to be able to share and give.
I love this quote:
"You are one individual on a small planet in a little solar system in one of the far-flung galaxies, but you can still make a difference."
–Unknown
If I could leave you with one last request it would be that you take a few quiet moments and think about your gifts and talents. I would encourage you to share them.
Even though it may be a small thing to you – it might be everything to someone else. Pay it forward and HAVE FUN! I believe in YOU and your ability to make a difference.
xoxo,
Kayla

This has been an amazing journey, Kayla, and I am SO grateful to you for sharing so much of yourself. I have a long way to go to implement your ideas (I’m still purging, tagging, rating photos from LOM) but I am certain that the rewards will be great. I hope you are blessed many times by all that you have shared so selflessly. Stay creative!!

Thanks Krystal – all the best to you in your organization journey!

Kayla – I am so appreciative of sharing all this knowledge so freely with us. In LOM, you always took me in the right direction with my endless questions so I knew to try hard and jump in here for the LR Class. Yesterday, I finished the initial keywording of all my digi stuff by designer. It took me days, but what a great feeling. Bridge was such an annoyance and ACDSee wasn’t yet available for the MAC. I am loving LR! I’ll be continuing along as quickly as time allows so that I don’t miss out on any of the content before it goes away.
Please enjoy where your new journey takes you. What a wonderful mantra. It seems similar to the Buddhist belief that the less you have the less you will need to worry about what you have.
I will certainly find a way to pay forward something that I am good at

I will be diligently working through your tutorials over the next few months. You have been a wonderful teach. Thank you and take care.
